Jose Rubio grew up in Charlottesville Virginia and played in several bands with Carter Beauford of The DMB . In 1980 Jose moved to Richmond to study classical guitar at VCU. Playing in Bands such as D-Factor and Black Cadillac his influences include Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Mayer and Clapton. Main instruments are a Fender Strat and Telecaster and a new Slick sl57 designed by Earl Slick played through a variety of pedals and a Fender Blues Deluxe Reverb amp. “It is more about expression and interpretation rather than just speed”

Tony Rice started playing bass guitar at the age of 15. He grew up listening to the sounds of a wide range of artists that included Earth, Wind and Fire, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Sting, George Benson, Prince, Cool and the Gang, Johnny Cash, Toto, the Eagles and so many more. "I've played just about everything from R&B Soul to Classic Rock. Country to Contemporary Christian."

The band has taken on a whole new sound adding the versatility of drummer Vell Sims from Ohio, Vell plays bass and drums. A military man Vell has played in bands all over the world. Vell brings together an amazing Rhythm section with Tony!
We are pleased to announce our new Vocalist Appolonia Morris. She brings a whole new dimension with influences like Etta James and Aretha Franklin “Apple” rounds JTS sound up to a new level.
